Learn to write by drawing in the air.

AirTracer turns your webcam into a magic pencil. Say a word or sentence out loud, then trace each letter with your finger. No sign-up, nothing to download, works right in your browser.

How it works

Four little steps.

From a spoken word to a saved piece of handwriting.

  1. 1

    Say your word

Tell AirTracer what you'd like to write, out loud — a single word or a short sentence. It shows what it heard so you can check it's right.

  2. 2

    Trace it in the air

Hold up your pointer finger. A glowing dot follows it on screen, and you colour in each see-through letter by moving your hand.

  3. 3

    Get a happy cheer

Every finished letter chimes, says 'well done', and drops down to fill in your word along the bottom of the screen.

  4. 4

    Keep your writing

At the end you see the whole sentence in your very own handwriting — and you can save it as a picture to keep.

Big movements, real learning.

Letter formation

Seeing and tracing each shape helps young writers recognise and remember how letters are made.

Sound to spelling

Saying a word and then watching its letters appear connects the sounds kids hear to the letters they write.

Hand-eye coordination

Big arm and finger movements build the motor control that makes pencil writing easier later on.

Safe, simple, and private.

AirTracer is built for little hands and careful parents. There's nothing to set up beyond saying yes to the camera.

Private by design.

The camera and microphone are used only on this device. Nothing is recorded, uploaded, or stored anywhere.

No accounts, no ads.

No sign-up, no downloads, no data collection — just open it and go.

What you'll need.

A webcam and a quiet-ish room. Works best in Chrome or Edge; other browsers fall back to typing the word.
